# Google analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is the next generation of Analytics that collects event-based data from websites and applications. It's an analytics service that lets you measure traffic and engagement on your websites and applications.&#x20;

GA4 is a new type of property designed for the future of measurement, and uses event-based data instead of session-based data.
