There are some prerequisites for configuring 1st party hosting. You must have two valid CNAMEs in your DNS configuration: one for hosting the file, and one for SSL certification.
You need to create two sub-domains (CNAMEs) so that they point to our server.
Example:
For the myshop.com domain, I create a sub-domain XYZ.myshop.com which points to the Commanders Act server. To set up a CNAME, create a CNAME record in your DNS manager that redirects a sub-domain, for example: ‘XYZ.myshop.com’ to your servers.
Note that ‘XYZ’ is given here as an example, you will need to find a sub-domain that is as unrecognisable as possible (avoid ‘tracking’, ‘commandersact’ etc...).
Declare the chosen sub-domain on your CAX platform: Administration > Domain Management > Add subdomain ‘First-Party Hosting’- Enter your full domain: XYZ.myshop.com
Retrieve your DNS configuration and send this information, along with the name of your chosen subdomain, to your IT department so that they can configure your CNAME.
Once configured, return to the CommandersAct CAX Administration > Domain Management platform. Confirm the configuration of the chosen domain.
Activate ‘Integration with container’ for the newly created sub-domain.
If you have multiple spaces, you can share a sub-domain between different ID sites as long as they belong to the same ‘billing account’.
Regenerate and deploy all your containers and banners.
Congratulations, you are now hosting in 1st party! If in doubt, contact support (support@commandersact.com)
